An explorer at heart and alumna of SCAD, I received my BFA in Advertising Design and have worked in San Antonio, Savannah, Austin, Berlin, Portland, & Boulder. Gothenburg and Beijing are homes away from home. I enjoy hiking, public libraries, and my hometown heroes, the San Antonio Spurs. In an effort to reduce waste, I make my own skincare & from scratch, sourcing sustainable ingredients and striving to compost and recycle everything along the way. I'm also a volunteer contributor for Outdoor Project, encouraging people to get outside and practice Leave No Trace ethics.
I fuel growth by testing myself personally & professionally — little A/B tests of sorts. An early career goal was to work abroad, and in 2012 I moved to Berlin having never been to Germany. I picked up German and learned to navigate the European business landscape while immersed in a rich & diverse culture. Without previous backpacking experience, I solo thruhiked the Colorado Trail (500mi / 800km) in 34 days over the summer of 2016. More recently, in the spring and summer of 2018, I hiked 650 miles (1050km) of the Pacific Crest Trail. As it tuns out, I love backpacking.
After a project is kicked off and goals are defined, I dive into research, strategy, and brainstorming. Concepts, moodboards, color palettes, typography pairings, sketches, and rough wireframes are examples of initial pieces I present for signoff before heading into rounds of design.
Wireframing, design & copy, prototyping, and development follow successively. I present multiple designs with suggestions for IA, UX, and UI, refining each round until a design is chosen. While versed in HTML & CSS, I am not a developer and very much appreciate & rely on developers!
An artist is never done; there will always be tweaks. I have ample experience in A/B testing everything from static ads to site layouts and designs. The beauty of digital design is the ease of iterating—I regularly test variations of UX and visual design, analyzing until a clear winner is found.
